In spite of shouts of copying by Force India, Lotus F1 Team has released a video showing its wind tunnel model being tested in Aerolab’s wind tunnel facility. This comes at the same time as the appointment of three senior personnel in Lotus F1.
Malaysian Alex Yoong, a former F1 driver, has been appointed Head of Driver Development (Asia), tasked with discovering and nurturing promising drivers for the future. He is joined by Nino Judge, team principal of UK-based Litespeed Formula Three, who is taking the position of Head of Driver Development (Europe).
Mia Sharizman Ismail, Motorsports Association of Malaysia (MAM) Chief Operating Officer, has been appointed Head of Operations (Asia). His job scope includes to strengthen alliances with the various motor sports bodies, and to study how best to transfer the relevant racing knowledge and expertise back to Malaysia.
“These new senior appointments will be a great boost for Lotus F1 Racing. The team have achieved many important milestones and we are on track to be on the grid in Bahrain next year”, Lotus F1’s team principal Datuk Seri Tony Fernandes said of the three new faces.
