Felipe Massa has driven the Ferrari 599XX, a track-focused version of the Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano, in Valencia. Under Ferrari’s customer racing program, Massa was joined by other 599XX owners, who would give feedback to Ferrari engineers regarding the 599XX’s performance.
Replacing the Enzo-based FXX, the 599XX is powered by a retuned version of the 599’s V12 engine with just under 700 bhp at 9000 rpm. The robotised manual transmission shifts gears in just 60 ms. Carbon-fibre features extensively throughout the car to save weight.
So how good is the car? Well, enough for Massa to say: “I really enjoyed testing this car, I think it’s extremely powerful and has an exceptional stability. Considering that it has been planned for the track it’s really easy to drive”. If it is good enough for him, it should be more than great for the rest of us.
