The 2012 Hyundai i40 four-door coupe is set to arrive soon after the impending launch of the i40 sedan, according to a report by U.K.-based AutoExpress. To be introduced as part of the Korean company’s push to cater to every market segment, the i40 coupe will be based on the upcoming i40 sedan, wearing a design inspired by Hyundai’s stunning i-flow concept, which was showcased at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year.
The report goes on to say that the i40 coupe would offer more practicality, especially in the area of rear headroom, and yet be priced lower than its key rival, the Volkswagen Passat CC. The engine range is expected to be shared with the i40 sedan’s, meaning a 1.6-litre petrol and a 1.7-litre diesel engines are likely to be carried over, each offered with either a six-speed automatic or a six-speed manual gearbox.
